To start our new CGA semester off with a bang, this week was spent off the grid. We all shared a house together, we bonded, we laughed, we sought the Lord, and we just had a total blast getting to know each other and seek out vision for this next season. Naturally, I loved everything about this week! If you don’t know me, I love people, I’m a huge extrovert, team building activities are my absolute favorite, and Jesus is my bestie! So this week was like a dream come true!
Well, on Wednesday, we had “Solo Day.” When I found this out on Tuesday night, my immediate reaction was internal PANIC. I understood the reasoning behind spending time alone with the Lord and seeking vision for this next season, but like…HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO JUST BE ALONE FOR AN ENTIRE DAY?! (Sidenote: it wasn’t even an entire day; just until dinner time. #dramatic)
So I was kind of (really) anxious about this day, but trying to be excited and expectant. So I prayed. I just asked the Lord to keep my mind clear of any thoughts that weren’t His and open to whatever He had in store for me. So the day happened; and I sat in His presence. And I waited. And I listened. And you know what?! The Lord totally spoke to me!!! He spoke to me, you guys! Sure, I feel direction and guidance from Him from time to time, but not usually this much. Well this time, I literally filled up 24 pages in my journal just listening to the Lord. TWENTY-FOUR PAGES!!! That’s so much stuff from Jesus!!!
Allllll because I actually sat with, waited for, and listened to the Lord.
